What and Where is Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm?
We are a U-Pick or We-Pick fruit farm and market. We are located in southwestern Michigan 15 miles from the sunset shore of Lake Michigan, about 25 miles north of the Indiana-Michigan state line and 100 miles from the loop in Chicago.

What to do upon arrival at Tree-Mendus?
Make a brief stop at the country market to obtain an orchard permit if you plan to do our U-Pick. Remember to bring your license plate number so you won’t have to go back out to your vehicle to get it. If you are not going to the orchard, visit the country store where you can find already picked fruit in season, a variety of jams, jellies, and butters, local honey & syrup or maybe your looking for some unique gift items, we have those too!!

Is there a Fee to go to the Orchard?
If you plan to visit our U-Pick orchard we have a $15.00 min purchase. This just means when you go out to pick you are required to pick at least $15.00 worth of fruit, it is not an additional cost. If you pick less than the $15.00, we charge the difference of your harvest and the $15.00 total.

U-Picking Fruit
Mother Nature is always in charge out here on the farm. Sometimes she will speed up or slow down the ripening process. We always have an approximate date of harvest but she has the last word. If you are looking for a specific variety, please call ahead or check our Ripe-N-Ready report for the latest update. Sometimes we also have a light crop and supplies are limited. We will let you know this when you call ahead as it changes every season.

Can we go out to the orchard just to hike or look around?
Unfortunately we cannot allow guests to enter the farm unless they are going to the U-Pick orchard. We have routes in place for the area’s we are utilizing for our customers and they must stay on them. We are working and maintaining the farm even when the U-Pick is open so we have to keep track of where our guests are.

What do we grow at Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm?
We grow Sweet & Tart Cherries, apricots, Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, Pears and over 200 varieties of apples.

Do I have to pick my own fruit?
We are always bringing in fresh picked fruit to our country store so you will always have the finest and freshest fruit to choose from. We try to have all varieties ripe available for you and the quantity to suite your needs, however, sometimes on busy days we have to go back out to the orchard to get more!

Are personal pets allowed on the Farm?
Yes and No. As of this time a pet may be brought on the farm but must be secured on a leash at all times. Customers are responsible for their pet’s actions and reactions. Pets are not allowed in the country store at any time.

Do we have wagon ride’s?
Weather permitting and busy times determine when we have wagon rides to the orchard. Typically, they are Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 in the fall season. Many times, during the summer months we will have a tractor and wagon in the orchard to help to get to other varieties we are picking.

Do we serve lunch or provide food?
Of course we have plenty of fresh fruit to snack on!! We have beverages and some snack food available in our country store, however, we serve our famous Cherry or Apple Waffle Boats hot off the irons topped with whipped cream and Gary has his home-made pie squares that hit the spot with a cup of coffee or cider. We also have Apple Cider Slusher’s to cool you off after harvesting on a warm summer day. They are 100% natural.
