Welcome to Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm, reporting on what's going on here at the orchard. We are currently in our winter office hours of Monday-Friday 10:00-2:00. Please call for an appointment if you need any Tree-Mendus supplies or e-mail us at anytime. We will be opening for the summer on Friday, June 7. At that time our hours will be Wed-Mon from 10:00-6:00. We will be closed on Tuesdays.
It's blossom time!!! Peach, Cherry, and plums are at full bloom right now and the apples are about to open. When you walk through the orchards you can see and hear the bees are busy helping generate this summers harvest. The Apricots are post bloom and we can tell already there is going to be a nice crop. At this point, it looks like we will begin harvest season with Sweet Cherries in approximately 6 weeks. We will keep you posted!!!!
Bill, Glen, and Gary are busy finishing up trimming the trees and getting them in shape to produce the perfect size, color, and flavor of fruit for you to harvest or purchase from our store this summer. We start our season with Sweet Cherries typically around mid-June and Tart Cherries and Apricots to follow. I can't wait!! Be sure to mark your Calendar for the Annual International Cherry Pit-Spitting Championship. Free and Fun for any age, the Pit-Spitting Championship will be held July 6th, 2013. Qualifying rounds are from 10:00-12:00 with the qualifying individuals continuing at the Championship that begins at 1:00. You don't want to miss this day of family fun.
When planning your summer events Tree-Mendus Fruit has accommodations for your family to make your visit more enjoyable. We offer a private "valley" picnic area for large groups, family reunions, or any gathering you may have. The valley comes with a pavilion and picnic tables to accommodate any size group. Call for reservations. For your fall visit you may want to consider renting an apple tree from our family tree orchard. This is a private orchard to "Rent-A-Tree" customers only. Our "Family Rent-A Tree" program allows families to "rent" an apple tree for the season. We take care of it; all you have to do is pick it! Bring the family and enjoy a picnic under your very own tree. Choose from apple varieties like, Mutsu, Jonagold, Golden Delicious, Rome, Jonathan, and Holiday.
Nancy is continually updating our listing for "e-news". This will be any updates on special events, harvesting, or fruit special's you may want to know about. If you wish to be signed up for this, just e-mail us at contactus@treemendus-fruit.com. We will be sending these e-mails only when there is an update on the season fruits or specials. If you receive our newsletter in late May, some of this information will be in there, but up to the minute details on harvesting and added specials will only be sent via e-mail. Did you know in addition to U-Pick and we-pick fruit in season, Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm accommodates company picnics, group orchard tours and country dinners by reservation. Our recreation area is a private picnic area nestled in a valley surrounded by trees for privacy. A pavilion is also available in case of rain. So plan for next spring or summer now. Call during regular office hours to schedule your event.
